TREATMENTS

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment that is safe and effective for anyone struggling with musculoskeletal pain that is affecting your daily life. The goal of treatment is to boost the mobility and health of the body as a whole, so that you can regain the quality of life you want.

I will take a full case history to ensure there are no major causes for concern (and will refer on to another healthcare practitioner if so) and to pinpoint what we need to look at. I will explain any proposed course of treatment and together we can agree the way forward.

I will ask you to take off any clothing around the area we need to work on, and always provide towels and coverings.

The first appointment will take 60 minutes, and follow-ups between 45-60 minutes. Follow-ups will usually take less time as we progress with the course of treatment.

When we come to the end of the treatment, I will provide advice and the knowledge to empower you to take control of your own healing journey.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

I offer Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) on its own or in combination with osteopathy. This therapy boosts the elimination of toxins/waste products, 20 times faster than the body’s natural mechanisms of the lymphatic system.

MLD is used to:

  • reduce swelling and puffiness from limbs & face
  • support post-operative/ injuries/circulation issues
  • support recovery from fatigue
  • promote relaxation & healing

The treatment cost for MLD is the same as for osteopathy.

Osteopathic treatment involves a variety of hands-on techniques to relieve pain and improve function. Techniques may include soft tissue massage, joint mobilization (articulation, HVT-clicking joints), and muscle energy techniques. Exercise is also often recommended to help maintain the benefits of treatment.

Within the first visit (60 minutes), osteopathic consultations typically last 20-30 minutes, including the examination and discussion of the treatment plan. By the end of the first session, you will have a good understanding of your prognosis and how many sessions may be needed.

Yes, you may bring someone if you wish or if it would be helpful.
